Senior Cloud Engineer (GovCloud / FedRAMP)

    • Boston (United States)

Job description

🌍 We’re making security suck less for developers.

Security tools haven’t kept up with how software is built today. They interrupt teams, slow releases, and turn security into a bottleneck instead of a capability. We built Aikido to change that. Aikido builds developer-first security products that reduce real risk without getting in the way of shipping software. We focus on what actually matters and automate the rest.

We’re taking on legacy security tools teams have been stuck with, and we’re winning. If you want to help us take market share and build products developers actually enjoy using, you’re in the right place.

Founded in 2022 by third-time founders, Aikido has $85M in the bank, a long runway ahead, and unicorn status. We’re building toward self-securing software. Join an all-star team. Take real ownership. Push boundaries. Build things that matter.

As a Senior Cloud Engineer at Aikido, you’ll own and operate the cloud infrastructure behind our U.S. public sector cloud environment. You’ll play a critical role in supporting our AWS GovCloud infrastructure, helping translate changes from the broader platform into a regulated environment, and servicing as a key technical operator on the front lines of our infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Own and operate Aikido’s AWS GovCloud infrastructure in support of our FedRAMP environment.

  • Maintain and improve Kubernetes-based platform infrastructure for reliability, performance, and security.

  • Handle day-to-day cloud operations: deployments, updates, configuration changes, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

  • Support last-mile implementation work required to adapt and maintain a regulated version of Aikido’s broader platform.

  • Partner closely with leadership and Aikido cloud architecture to keep environments aligned while meeting government-specific constraints.

  • Respond to infrastructure and customer support needs that require hands-on access inside the U.S. regulated environment.

  • Help ensure operational readiness, resilience, and compliance as ASD scales its federal footprint

Job requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments

  • Strong experience with AWS, ideally including AWS GovCloud

  • Experience operating and maintaining cloud infrastructure, not just designing it

  • Comfortable owning production systems, troubleshooting issues, and making pragmatic technical decisions quickly

  • Able to work independently in a fast-moving, high-ownership environment

  • U.S. citizenship is required for access to the FedRAMP environment

Nice to have

  • Experience working in FedRAMP, federal, defense, or other regulated cloud environments.

  • Familiarity with compliance-driven infrastructure operations.

  • Experience partnering with distributed engineering teams to support mirrored or duplicated environments.

  • Background in security-focused infrastructure or cloud architecture.

What you can expect

  • Short decision lines. Big ownership. Shape the projects that matter and ship fast.

  • Grow as fast as we do. Take on more, own more, and carve out your own path.

  • Top-tier tech pay and equity.

  • High trust, strong values, zero corporate BS.

  • Flexibility in working hours.

  • A company that sticks to its values in an open and informal atmosphere.

We hire for talent, drive, and potential. Everything else is noise.
