Chief Financial Officer
- Ghent (Belgium)
Job description
🌍 We’re making security suck less for developers.
Security tools haven’t kept up with how software is built today. They interrupt teams, slow releases, and turn security into a bottleneck instead of a capability. We built Aikido to change that. Aikido builds developer-first security products that reduce real risk without getting in the way of shipping software. We focus on what actually matters and automate the rest.
We’re taking on legacy security tools teams have been stuck with, and we’re winning. If you want to help us take market share and build products developers actually enjoy using, you’re in the right place.
Founded in 2022 by third-time founders, Aikido has $85M in the bank and a long runway ahead. We’re building toward self-securing software. Join an all-star team. Take real ownership. Push boundaries. Build things that matter.
As our first CFO, you are the financial leader of the company and a core partner to the founders.
You define how we scale, how we deploy capital, and how we prepare for the next phase of growth toward €250M ARR and beyond. You operate at board level on topics like fundraising, M&A, and IPO readiness, while ensuring the financial engine runs with precision day-to-day. You’ll operate hands-on and take full ownership of finance, and initially broader G&A, with the mandate to professionalize and scale both.
You’ll work across multiple international entities and jurisdictions, setting up scalable structures and ensuring we stay ahead of financial, legal, and tax complexity.
Responsibilities
Act as a strategic partner to founders on capital allocation, fundraising, M&A, and key decisions
Support investor relations and fundraising processes
Run the financial engine: budgeting, forecasting, cash, burn, and runway
Own the company’s financial strategy
Turn financial data into clear insights that drive company-wide decisions
Build scalable finance structures, systems, and compliance across international entities
Own G&A early: drive HR, IT, and operations, and hire/spin out teams as we scale
Job requirements
This is a senior, high-impact role. We’re looking for someone who has already built and led finance in a scaling company at this level.
8+ years in finance, including senior leadership roles in SaaS, software, or AI

Strong understanding of capital strategy: funding rounds, venture debt, equity vs cash, secondaries
Experience with EU–US structures, international operations, and IFRS / US GAAP reporting
Experience preparing a company for large-scale growth, ideally toward IPO or similar level
Proven ability to build and run core finance functions: controlling, treasury, payables, receivables, cash management
Strong analytical and reporting capabilities across multi-entity, multi-currency, multi-product setups
Solid understanding of legal, tax, and fiscal implications of financial decisions
What you can expect:
