Chief Financial Officer

    • Ghent (Belgium)

Job description

🌍 We’re making security suck less for developers.

Security tools haven’t kept up with how software is built today. They interrupt teams, slow releases, and turn security into a bottleneck instead of a capability. We built Aikido to change that. Aikido builds developer-first security products that reduce real risk without getting in the way of shipping software. We focus on what actually matters and automate the rest.

We’re taking on legacy security tools teams have been stuck with, and we’re winning. If you want to help us take market share and build products developers actually enjoy using, you’re in the right place.

Founded in 2022 by third-time founders, Aikido has $85M in the bank and a long runway ahead. We’re building toward self-securing software. Join an all-star team. Take real ownership. Push boundaries. Build things that matter.

As our first CFO, your core mission is to bring financial clarity and discipline as we scale into our next phase of growth to 250M ARR (and beyond).

You’ll define and drive strategic and financial objectives across the company, while preparing Aikido for efficient scaling and future fundraising. You’ll operate hands-on while building the foundations for our finance function. Early on, you’ll also own G&A (HR, IT, internal ops) and help evolve this into dedicated teams as we grow.

You’ll work across multiple international entities and jurisdictions, setting up scalable structures and ensuring we stay ahead of financial, legal, and tax complexity.

  • Own budgeting, forecasting, and cash management

  • Maintain a clear view of runway, burn, and overall financial health

  • Turn numbers into insights that drive company decisions

  • Prepare the company for the next fundraising or make it IPO ready

  • Build scalable finance processes and systems across jurisdictions

  • Oversee and structure G&A (HR, IT, internal operations) in the early stage

  • Help spin out and hire dedicated teams as the company grows

  • Manage financial complexity across multiple international entities

Job requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in finance, including leadership roles

  • Experience in a high-growth SaaS or startup environment

  • Hands-on mindset, comfortable executing as well as leading

  • Experience with fundraising, investor relations, or board reporting

  • Ability to operate across finance, HR, and internal operations

  • Clear communicator, structured thinker, no-BS approach

What you can expect:

  • High-impact position in a fast-growing company.

  • Fast growth of responsibility.

  • Competitive salary package.

  • A company that sticks to its values in an open and informal atmosphere (see our culture page on the website for more details).

  • Flexibility in working hours.

You will be recruited based on competencies. Qualities of people are decisive, regardless of gender, religion, ethnic origin, age, sexual orientation, or disability.
